This is Ernesto, the groundskeeper at the town’s church graveyard. It turns out that during the war he was the young medical student that performed the miracle surgery that saved the severely injured baby. He claims it was the first major surgery he ever did, and that he did not know anything about graft lines and such. He just moved as he was felt he had too. He said he felt like God had heard the prayer of Sandra and was determined to make sure that the baby survived.
