When I first started collecting from this show, I decided to hold off on any cels of Ruby Moon, Spinel Sun, and their alternate forms. As this section grew, I had a change of heart and felt it would be nice to have at least one cel of each of them. Of course, that is easier said than done. These characteres have very little screen time so it is hard to find nice cels of them. I feel lucky that I was able to get this cel for fairly cheap, especially from Mandarake’s Big Web Auction.

The scan of the cel above shows it with most of the edges of the background cut off to match what is seen on screen. Although the cel layer for Ruby is normal-sized, the background is very oversized. That is because in this scene Ruby is attacking Yue, and she is rising off of the tori gate with a great deal of speed. They had to make the background large in order to reflect all of the ground she is covering in such a short period of time.

In the scan of the background it is hard to see but the first cel layer contains a very tiny Eriol dressed in his long dark robes and holding his magical staff. I am sorry about the poor job of combining the 2 scans. The background is huge, and even with a large-bed scanner, I could not get the whole thing done in a single scan.
