I do not know quite how to label this background. Basically, it looks like a laser copy background that has been taped to a piece of blank background paper. It was labeled as a matching production background in the auction, so I am somewhat confused. I suppose it is possible that the studio created the laser copy to use in the show instead of a painted one. I am much more suspicious that this was an dishonest “upgrade” done by the seller. The only thing that prevents me from completely sure of this was a scam is that the blank background is of the correct size, thickness, and texture of other production backgrounds. The tape that attaches the laser copy to the background is also quite old and yellowed. That could make this an older scam from a previous seller, or it could mean that the studio did this to make up for some sort of problem that occured in production. For now, I will call it a laser copy.
