I sort of cheated on this image. There is supposed to be an additional airbrushed layer to this cel. It is used to give it an overall darker look. Unfortunately, my scanner was not able to work well with this layer and kept adding random stripes to the affected areas. As it turns out, I kind of like it better this way. I am a big fan of backgrounds and removing the airbrushed layer makes the golds in this one stand out more.
